Day 30 September 4, 2010 1st time outside

Nine new surfaces right in that immediate area for the pups!!!

What a perfect opportunity for puppies to be on different surfaces and to have mom lie down to nurse them with a positive reinforce for this new situation.  Good mom Opal.  I am very pleased with this new mom!!!

Day 28 September 2, 2010 First face clipping

Everyone had their faces clipped for the first time today.  It was the second time I clipped their feet and also did around the genetial areas.  Not sure how many times I`ve clipped their little nails all 120 of them :) but I do the front for sure about every three days to keep them from scratching Opal while nursing.

Day 13 August 18th, 2010 A special visit from my younger days horse buddy........

Shiraz and Tang go for a walk with Claire, Patricia and Kylie while I tend to puppies.

After a good relaxed introduction and Opal has excepted my friends with great easement of a first time mom, we have a visit with the litter later in the afternoon.  We also introduced bottle feeding to give mom a little break with the successful feedings of two puppies.  I was able to feed one while Patricia fed another.  One thing about this special Golden Thread Friendship is we can take over where the other one leaves off whether it be with the Horses years ago or to now with the Poodles!! Thanks buddy!!! 
 I love you and miss you!!

 Day 14 Thursday August 19th, 2010

The next morning Shiraz gently awakens Claire.  :)

Eyes starting to open.....and the start of the stagger walk.

Eyes are starting to open just a slight bit.  My first clue was when I turned on the little clamp light I have attached to the whelping box a puppy moved.  Hmm I thought it`s that time!!


Watching the pups when I`m trying to weigh them pull themselves up to practically a stand is fascinating and amazing to watch :)

While I was doing the Early Neurological Stimulation procedures, the #1cream boy walked half way across the whelping box.  I also see #10 cream girls eyes are partially open.
